Charlie Villas
Charlie Villas is one of Australia's favourite party starters and highly sought-after DJs. Hailing from the Philippines and now based in the picturesque Blue Mountains on Darug and Gundungurra land, she is celebrated as a vibe maker and dance floor legend. Her passion for soulful, worldly sounds has resonated across major events such as Dark Mofo, Darwin Festival, Laneway, Splendour In The Grass, and Sydney Mardi Gras, among others. She has soundtracked events for Adidas, FENDI, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Mecca and has played opening celebrations for the Archibald, Sydney Film Festival and at the opening of Naala Badu, the north wing of the Art Gallery of NSW. Charlie’s international footprint includes sets in Bali, Kyoto, London, Paris and Tokyo. Charlie is also an event producer/co-head chef of Club Sandwich, which she produces alongside Melbourne DJ HipHopHoe. Club Sandwich is part performance night, part queer strip club and is a love letter to the QTIPOC community.
Charlie is also a beloved figure and a pillar of Sydney’s queer community, alongside her gorgeous wife Nikita (the beauty and brains behind cult brand Doodad and Fandango) the couple have appeared in numerous brand campaigns, they’ve been painted for the Archibald, they’ve appeared in Vogue magazine for their 2019 wedding looks and their iconic wedding outfits have been acquired by the Powerhouse Museum for their permanent collection.
