WRITERS IN THE SKY Everyone in the Skyway Has Killed Someone

  • Scenic World Violet Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

Join Benjamin Stevenson and Miles Merrill for a choose-your-own-adventure crime fiction comedy, suspended perilously across the Jamison Valley with sixty fellow suspects. Benjamin is an award-winning stand-up comedian, adept at crafting complex mysteries and killer one-liners, and Miles is an experienced performer and facilitator, known for his slam poetry and mastery of audience engagement. Expect interactive, chaotic fun as you attempt to connect the dots and solve the crime before the skyway docks.

Benjamin Stevenson is an award-winning stand-up comedian and author, and the author of five novels. Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone, his third novel, was a huge bestseller and has so far been sold in twenty-seven territories around the world, and will soon be adapted into a major HBO TV series. The sequel, Everyone On This Train Is A Suspect, was shortlisted for the ABIA General Fiction Book of the Year 2024 and longlisted for the Indie Book Award for Fiction 2024. His newest Ernest Cunningham mystery is Everyone This Christmas Has A Secret.

Miles Merrill is a writer, performer, facilitator and event coordinator who combines poetry with theatre, experimental audio, hip-hop beats, stand-up and, occasionally, political confrontation. He is founder of the Australian Poetry Slam (APS), an international performing writers' program, which sees about 1000 writers performing in events across the Asia-Pacific every year. Miles is also Creative Director/CEO of the charity Word Travels. He has performed in Krakow's Audio Art Festival, and writers' festivals in Bali, Beijing, Vancouver, Singapore and Calgary. Originally from Chicago (birthplace of slams) and now based in the Blue Mountains.

This Writers in the Sky event is held at Scenic World, Katoomba and includes a complimentary drink, light snacks and shuttle bus from The Carrington Hotel.
