A FINAL RECKONING Jen Craig in conversation with Shaun Prescott

  • Ballroom, The Carrington Hotel 15-47 Katoomba Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

Shortlisted for the 2024 Miles Franklin Award, Jen Craig’s third novel, Wall, was described by the judges as ‘a masterful display of narrative control’ and ‘a brilliant novel full of pathos, humour and deep introspection’.

A woman returns to Australia to clear out her father’s house, with an eye to transforming the contents into an art installation, but finds herself reckoning with complications that she had thought she’d put behind her. A Katoomba local and master of her craft, Jen is joined in conversation with fellow Blue Mountains novelist and friend, Shaun Prescott.

Jen Craig is the author of three novels, including Panthers and the Museum of Fire, which was longlisted for the Stella Prize in 2016. Her most recent novel, Wall, has been listed for the 2024 Victorian Premier's Literary Awards and the 2024 Miles Franklin Award.

Shaun Prescott is a writer based in the Blue Mountains. His debut novel The Town was published in 2017 and his second novel, Bon and Lesley, was published in September 2022.
