Living Vulnerably: In Conversation with Rick Morton and George Haddad

  • The Carrington Hotel 15-47 Katoomba Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

Rick Morton (One Hundred Years of Dirt, My Year of Living Vulnerably) and George Haddad (Losing Face, Populate and Perish) look at issues of masculinity and class in writing and the mercurial line between lived experience and written representation. Be challenged and stimulated by their frank and honest discussion about their writing lives and how being vulnerable opens up possibilities to how we view the world around us.

Rick Morton’s debut memoir, One Hundred Years of Dirt became a national bestseller and was shortlisted for the National Biography Award 2019. Rick is also an award-winning journalist and is senior reporter at The Saturday Paper.

George Haddad is an award-winning writer and artist practising on Gadigal land whose work explores masculinities and the limitations of language in communicating truths. His novella, Populate and Perish, was the winner of the 2016 Viva La Novella competition; Losing Face is his debut novel.
