MURDER IN THE MOUNTAINS Hayley Scrivenor and Benjamin Stevenson in conversation

  • Grand Dining Room, The Carrington Hotel 15-47 Katoomba Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

A perfect setting for a perfect crime? More and more authors are choosing the spectacular backdrop of the Blue Mountains as the setting for their novels – but why are so many of them crime fiction?

Award-winning author of Dirt Town Hayley Scrivenor and bestselling author and stand-up comedian Benjamin Stevenson talk clifftops, cablecars and wilderness as they dissect their choice of place in their latest novels Girl Falling and Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret.

Hayley Scrivenor is the author of Dirt Town, which won the CWA's prestigious ILP John Creasey 'New Blood' Dagger, a Lambda Literary award, a Davitt Award for Best Debut Crime Book, and an ABIA for General Fiction Book of the Year. Girl Falling is her second novel.

Benjamin Stevenson is an award-winning author and stand-up comedian best known for his Ernest Cunningham mysteries, Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone and Everyone On This Train Has Killed Someone. His latest book is Everyone This Christmas Has A Secret.
