Drawing on the joyful strength of the teenage world around her, Tegan Bennett Daylight talks with Charlotte Wood about why the world might actually be becoming a better place. A delightful upending of The Lord of The Flies, Tegan’s new YA novel Royals pays tribute to the kindness, generosity and insight of today’s young people.

Tegan Bennett Daylight is a writer, teacher, critic, and the author of three novels in addition to several books for young people. Her collection of short stories, Six Bedrooms, was shortlisted for the ALS Gold Medal, the Steele Rudd Award and the 2016 Stella Prize, and her book of essays, The Details, was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Award for Non-Fiction.

Charlotte Wood is a Sydney-based author of seven novels and three non-fiction works. She has won the Stella Prize and the Prime Minister's Literary Award, among others, and her features and essays have appeared in The Guardian, the New York Times, the Sydney Morning Herald, The Monthly, the Saturday Paper and others.
