ANIMALS WEIRD AND WONDERFUL WITH SAMI BAYLY

  • Katoomba Library 30 Parke Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

Recommended ages 3 – 10

Join author and illustrator Sami Bayly for a jam-packed session about nature, science and animals, complete with drawing demonstrations, activities and readings from her wonderful Illustrated Encyclopedia books, including Ugly Animals, Extinct Animals, Dangerous Animals and Peculiar Pairs in Nature.

You’ll hear incredible animal adaptation stories, learn a bunch of fun collective nouns and maybe even discover a gross fact or two! For the final activity, kids get to create their own mystery animal, drawing their invention and including a description with habitat, diet and other fun facts, just like Sami does in her brilliant books.

This venue is wheelchair accessible, but please visit our Accessibility page or email hello@bluemountainswritersfestival.com.au if you have any other accessibility requirements.

Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival will have Auslan interpreters available for the Festival and will schedule them into sessions on request. Please complete the Auslan request question at checkout.
