Love Objects: Hoarding, Family and Forgiveness. Emily Maguire in Conversation with Sarah Macdonald

  • The Carrington Hotel 15-47 Katoomba Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

What happens when we try to fill our empty spaces with more and more objects, until there is almost no room for ourselves? Join Emily Maguire, author of the Stella Prize and Miles Franklin Award-shortlisted An Isolated Incident, in conversation with journalist, author and radio presenter Sarah Macdonald to discuss Emily’s latest novel, Love Objects. A soul-searching and deeply compassionate story, Love Objects is an intriguing exploration of the psychology of hoarding by one of Australia’s strongest literary voices.

Emily Maguire is the author of six novels, including the Stella Prize and Miles Franklin shortlisted An Isolated Incident, and three non-fiction books. Her articles and essays on sex, feminism and culture have been widely published.

Sarah Macdonald is currently the presenter for the Evenings program on ABC Radio Sydney and co-presenter of The Full Catastrophe story-telling event and podcast with Rebeca Huntley.
