What does the future look like? Join editor and writer Mykaela Saunders, writer/poet/educator Ellen van Neerven (Throat) and novelist/short story writer, Gina Cole (Na Viro, Black Ice Matter) as they talk about subverting and reconfiguring speculative fiction to centre First Nations communities, cultures and creativity. Hosted by Rudi Bremer, host of Radio National's Awaye!

Mykaela Saunders is a Koori and Lebanese writer, teacher, community researcher and the editor of This All Come Back Now, the critically-acclaimed, world-first anthology of blackfella speculative fiction.

Ellen van Neerven is a Mununjali writer, editor and educator based in Meanjin. Ellen’s book of poetry, Throat, recently won Book of the Year, the Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry and the Multicultural NSW Award at the NSW Premier's Literary Awards.

Gina Cole is of Fijian, Scottish and Welsh descent, and lives in Tāmaki Makaurau. Her collection Black Ice Matter won the Hubert Church Prize for Best First Book Fiction at the 2017 Ockham Book Awards.

Rudi Bremer has working in radio broadcasting since 2012. Rudi is the presenter of RN Awaye! and ABC kids Listen’s Little Yarns and relishes the opportunity to indulge her love of performing arts, literature, and Indigenous languages – like her own, Gamilaraay.
