EXPERIMENTS IN POETIC FORM with Felicity Plunkett

  • Seminar Room, Blue Mountains Cultural Centre 30 Parke Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

Explore a diverse array of poetic forms and unique prompts and possibilities, then begin drafting your own new poems, with Dr Felicity Plunkett, poet, critic and former Poetry Editor at University of Queensland Press.

Introducing brilliant poems and adventurous prompts, Felicity will lead you to analyse and understand why some poems work (and some poems don’t!), before using examples to fuel short bursts of creative exploration within the workshop setting.

Share your work-in-progress and learn skills for editing your own poems, then leave brimming with ideas, inspired and excited, and with the beginnings of new work.

Felicity is a poet and critic living on Wangal land. She has a PhD from the University of Sydney and was Poetry Editor with University of Queensland Press for nine years. Her books include A Kinder Sea, Vanishing Point and Seastrands, and she edited Thirty Australian Poets.

The Cultural Centre is wheelchair accessible, but please email hello@bluemountainswritersfestival.com.au if you have any other accessibility requirements.

Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival will have Auslan interpreters available for the Festival and will schedule them into sessions on request. Please complete the Auslan request question at checkout.
